Paoli Psychological Associates is pleased to offer the Cogmed Working Memory Training program for children and adults as a way of improving attention and elements of executive functioning.

Cogmed Working Memory Training is a research-based 5-week program developed by neuroscientists that helps children and adults become more focused. Research has shown that 80% of individuals completing the program make significant, real life improvement.

Some of the areas commonly improved are attention/concentration, impulse control, academic performance, behavior, memory, and social awareness and skills.

    Cogmed Working Memory Training is a research-based computerized program designed by neuroscientists to improve attention and focus by increasing working memory capacity.

    Working memory is a key cognitive ability used in a variety of daily life situations that allows a person to hold information in their mind for brief periods. We use it to remember instructions, learn new things, read and comprehend what we read, organizing, listening and conversing, planning, inhibiting impulses, etc.

  3. Who is Cogmed training for?
    Basically it is for anyone who wants to improve their ability to concentrate and pay attention. It is very appropriate for individuals who have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) with or without hyperactivity. It is designed for children, teens, and adults.

  4. Is Cogmed effective?
    Substantial research has documented that Cogmed training translates into improvements in attention/concentration, impulse control, academic performance, behavior, memory, and social awareness and skills, and other areas.   5. How does Cogmed work?
    Cogmed training is done on a computer at the user's home, school, or workplace. It is a 5-week program involving 5 one-hour training sessions per week. Training is supervised by a trained psychologist through a start-up meeting and weekly coaching calls. The user's progress is monitored by the coach and results documented.
