Child and Adolescent Counseling and Therapy Services
Children and teens can have many different kinds of challenges and problems that require a specialized approach. The daily stresses they face can lead to difficulties with academic success, family relationships, self-esteem, socializing, and other important events of life as well as emotional health. Counseling or therapy can be an important help in difficult or stressful times.
Some of our counselors at PPA specialize in helping children and teens to overcome their challenges, grow, and thrive even amidst challenging circumstances. Our therapists and counselors create a friendly, non-threatening environment where children and teens can express themselves openly and receive therapeutic support. In addition to counseling and therapy, parent support and education is also an important part of our work.
In some cases psychological or psychoeducational evaluation can be an important step in clarifying why a child or adolescent is experiencing certain problems. Testing can provide valuable insights and help determine what supports and approaches would be most effective. Such diagnostic help can be an asset to treatment planning, educational placement and support, and qualifying for certain services.
